Employment

The SUB Football season in Auckland and Melbourne runs between October and March.

This season, 2006/07, Competitions will start during the week commencing Monday, 30 October, except for Competitions at Auckland Domain which start during the week commencing Monday, 23 October.

Competitions run for 7 weeks, there's a mid season break of 4 weeks from mid December to mid January, and then for another 7 weeks. 14 weeks in total.

In Auckland, the season is extended by one week for inter-Competition Play-Offs.

Referees

A key objective of SUB Football Network is to have an official referee for every game.

This season, SUB Football Network will make 59 referee appointments per week in Auckland and 12 referee appointments per week in Melbourne.

SUB Football Network recruits referee on a one or two night per week basis.

Referees are provided with shirt, shorts and socks and receive $50 for refereeing 3 x 40 minutes games on the same pitch per night.

Venue Managers

Efficient running of Competitions is another key objective of SUB Football Network and Venue Managers are employed to achieve this objective.

Venue Managers may be required to work from 1 - 4 days per week.

They must be qualified SUB Football Referees and have their own internet connected computer.

They are provided with a Van and Trailer which is used to transport portable goals and other associated equipment between their home and SUB Football venues.

Duties may include line marking, erecting portable goals, hanging nets, erecting try boards, preparing fixture boards, laundering bibs, pumping up soccer balls, printing referee score sheets, preparing referee kits, submitting results to a website, assigning referees to pitches, etc. Full training is provided.
